I'm Richard Thomas,
an independent insurance agent.

How I came to insurance.

Before insurance, I worked in multi-unit retail management. When I left, I was looking for an opportunity to keep connecting with consumers and, ultimately, to be of service. Insurance was a natural fit.

Little did I know it would put me in a position to help my own parents when they needed it. My mother was on Medicare because of a disability, and she had already been left in a position that exposed her financially. What I had learned meant I could help put her in a better position. Later, when my father became eligible for Medicare, I was able to help him make that transition too.

I take pride in truly helping individuals and families find solutions to their insurance needs, and in giving them the information they need to make informed decisions.

Outside the office

I'm married to my beautiful wife Jennifer, I attended the University of Georgia, and I'm a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan. Because of Jennifer's bout with colorectal cancer in 2024, I'm a proud member of the Colon Cancer Coalition's planning committee for the Get Your Rear in Gear Charlotte 5K, which raises awareness and money for colon cancer prevention.
